The House:

Open everything – shutters and doors in the morning for a bright beginning to the day or sit outside in the evenings for the breeze and tranquility. The house is of Caribbean style, designed and built by its owner who has been a builder in his native New Zealand, Canada and finally Dominica. At 5,800 sq. ft. the house includes 3 bedrooms with ensuites, half bathroom off the Great Room, and a nanny suite also with ensuite bathroom. The wrap-around veranda is a great space for entertaining.  There is even a bar opening from the kitchen. The veranda opens via six large shutters, made out of Guyana’s green-heart wood straight out of the jungle.  These shutters are 6 ft. wide and 8 feet high. The veranda also provides wheelchair access to the Master Bedroom.
